Ch. Twin Elm's Christmas Evy
In loving memory of Ch.Twin Elm's Christmas Evy.
Anyone who has the pleasure of knowing an Alapaha for any length of time
understands how truly unique and special this breed is. Evy was absolutely the poster
child for this. Being my first Alapaha, this dog knew she was coming home with me
the day she was born. Those who have one know Alapaha's choose who they will
spend their lives with, you do not chose them. I do not use the word "owner" when
speaking about them,because you do not "own" an Alapaha,you are privileged to share
your life with them.
Evy and I had a very special bond and it will be a long time, if ever, that another one
comes along like her. God broke the mold when he made her. If you ever met Evy
you know that she actually broke her own mold...LOL! She was sometimes to much
for words. She loved to swim and would go until she absolutely could not move. She
would play doggie soccer until she dropped, running around pushing the ball with her
shoulders and barking every step. Evy was very intense,highly motivated, and
independent dog that was very devoted to and loved her family very much.
I could go on forever doting over Evy and telling you what a wonderful dog she was.
She was truly one of those friends that you come across once in a lifetime and will
possibly never find again. I told my husband that he is my best friend in life,but Evy
was my very,very,very, bestest best friend.
Goodbye for now "White Dog", I will see you again over the Rainbow Bridge where
you are now united with your big brother Joseph.
